Externships

Welcome to the Appalachian Veterinary Services Externship Program! Our program offers veterinary students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a thriving, community-centered practice. Since our clinic is located in the heart of the New River Valley, our clinic serves a diverse clientele with a broad range of species which allows students to deepen their knowledge and skills in both large and small animal medicine. Through direct mentorship from our experienced team of veterinarians, you’ll gain invaluable insights into the day-to-day realities of veterinary practice, strengthen your clinical expertise, and enhance your confidence in patient care.
