New Clients

We’re glad you’re here. Our veterinarians and staff have your pets’ care and your concerns at the forefront of our philosophy.

Welcome

Your first appointment with Appalachian Veterinary Services:

When you become a client of ours, you can rest assured that your animals will have a dedicated team available to you. Emergencies happen, and not just during the daytime. With a team of seven doctors on staff, we are able to offer emergency services for our routine large animal clients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We aim to provide exceptional service, reliability, and experience to our clients. In order to ensure we are always available when needed, Appalachian Veterinary Services does not offer emergency services to non-established clients, or inactive clients that have not been seen for a routine appointment in the past 12 months. This helps keep our team available and immediately dispatchable for client emergencies. Once you are established as a client with AVS, you will automatically benefit from our emergency services unless otherwise noted.

When calling after-hours you will be asked for:

  • your name
  • your phone number
  • your animal’s name
  • a brief description of the emergency

Our doctor on call will be notified of your message immediately, and will call you back promptly within a 15 minute window to gather more information and help address your emergency. If you do not hear from a doctor within 15 minutes, we urge you to please call again to ensure our system has processed your message. If you still do not hear back, our doctor on-call is likely out of cell range or seeing to another emergency and will return your call as soon as possible.

Emergency Fees are an additional cost when your animals require attention after hours, and range in cost depending on the time of day your animal is seen.
